Throughout lockdown, the Friends of Handforth Station have been unable to do more than the most basic vital work at the station. We have not been allowed to gather for events like Work Parties, we have not been able to tend our vegetation/plantings as much as we’d have liked, and we have not been able to involve local community groups like the Scouts.
As circumstances related to COVID-19 change, Government advice means that the guidelines imposed by Northern Trains on volunteer groups such as ours are easing.
As such, we were able to mount hanging baskets in June, and our lovely new Bug Train was installed in early July.
And, most excitingly of all; we hope to be able to schedule Work Parties again soon ! Please keep an eye on this web-site for information about Work parties at the station.
